Honey glazed Halloumi cheese with figs

Halloumi cheese

dried oregano

fresh oregano

coconut oil or oil of your choice

fresh figs cut in halves
Instructions
Slice halloumi in 1 centimeter thick pieces.
In a small bowl, add the honey, juice of the lemon and oregano leaves. Mix well.
Add the haloumi slices and turn to coat.
Place the container in the fridge to marinate for as long as you can, a minimum of one hour. If you hurry, you can grill immediately.
Heat some of the coconut oil in a pan on medium heat. Once heated, gently place some of the halloumi cheese.
Saute/Grill halloumi for 1 minute on each side or until golden brown.
Add fig halves and sear for 30 seconds.
Transfer to a plate, scatter over the fresh oregano, and drizzle with the leftover honey mix.
Notes
SERVING TIP:
Serve with figs, tabouli, and spread with hummus on pita bread. Add option spinach, artichoke hearts, assorted olives or pine nuts.
